While Chinook Salmon are not known as big Jig lovers, the truth is that they will attack Jigs just as voraciously as all the Salmon species.
Bent Rods Chinook Jigs are designed for both float fishing and jigging techniques.  The two styles are very different.

When float fishing for Chinook it is important to get your lure down to the fish- and Jigs are great for this!  Many of the patterns we use for Chinooks are very similar to our other Salmon and Steelhead Jigs and certainly any of our Jigs floated in front of aggressive Chinooks can result in hookups.
When floating Jigs I strongly suggest tipping your Jig with prawn pieces, squid, crayfish, pieces of herring or sardine (where legal) and other bait. Chinooks are extremely responsive to bait and scents and I often will even tip a Chinook Jig with a good sized roe bag, made from singles or chunk roe.

Our Chinook specific Jigs are tied using colors with which we have had our best Chinook fishing success, in the Rivers of the Fraser River Valley and its many tributaries.

Our Chinook “Jigging” Jigs are designed for anglers who wish to cast and retrieve for Chinook Salmon where they are holed up in deeper holes.  Simply cast into the holding water and perform the lift, followed by reeling in the slack and repeat. Once this technique is mastered it can be deadly for many species of Salmon in both estuaries and freshwater.
This technique is done by tying your Jig directly to your mainline.
