The fact that Coho Salmon are crazy about Jigs is a rather new discovery, and one you will not want to miss out on if you love to catch the high jumping, acrobatic Coho Salmon!

One thing that is very true of Coho Salmon is that they are very attracted to certain colors and flashy lures, which they love to chase!

Our Bent Rods selection of Coho float fishing Jigs is designed to attract mostly Coho.  They are unique Jigs that Coho Salmon truly love to eat. I must also add that almost all of our Steelhead and Salmon Jigs will take Coho and we have caught these fish on virtually every Jig in our selection, so do not hesitate to try any of our Bent Rods Jigs when you are after Coho Salmon. As with other species, Coho love a good scent.  Tipping Jigs with small pieces of raw prawn or a small 2 egg roe bag can turn a good day into a great day- well worth the effort.

If you truly want to experience Coho fishing at its finest the art of ‘Twitching/Jigging’ is perhaps the deadliest way ever found to catch Coho, as they rest in their favorite of all water types ‘frog water’.  How many times have you found schools of Coho holed up in slow to non moving water, behaving spooky and tight lipped??.
The answer to this equation is ‘Twitchin’.  The technique involves casting a large sized 3/8-1/2 oz Marabou Jig into the holding water and letting it sink to or very close to bottom.  Next you will perform a quick lift of the rod tip and allow the Jig to sink again while quickly reeling in the small amount of slack created. You will perform this technique until the Jig is back to your position.  Many of the bites come on the drop after the lift and feel like snag or hang up.  You will learn the feel in quick order.
Coho love to chase lures and this technique is perfectly suited to fishing for these scrappy fish.  Unlock the secrets to this technique, and you will enjoy the best Coho fishing you have ever experienced!

Our Coho ‘Twitching’ Jigs are only available through mail order at this time, so please give us a holler and we’ll get you set up for the best Coho fishing of your life.
